Indigo Dreams Fabric Bundle - Half Yard
Indigo Dreams Fabric Bundle - Half Yard
Featuring six half-yard cuts of premium Japanese fabric. All of these fabrics are curated to work well with each other , and can just as easily be mixed with other fabrics in your stash to make one-of-a-kind items of your own.
Half yard cuts are 18" tall and around 42" - 44" wide from selvedge to selvedge. These cotton woven fabrics are suitable for a variety of projects, such as quilts, table runners, and bags.
These fabrics contain several traditional Japanese motifs, including:
Aki (autunm) scene of maple leaves falling into the water with deer on navy fabric - every year in the autunm, the leaves on maple trees turn from a bright green, to orange, to a vibrant red. This is the seasonal inverse of when in the spring, cherry blossoms bloom and fall.
Kintsugi - meaning "join with gold" - the art of repairing broken objects with gold lacquer. The resulting repair highlights, rather than minimizes, the fact that the item has been broken and repaired.
Sashiko - sashiko literally means "tiny stabs" in Japanese. While in the West, sashiko is primarily seen as an artisinal craft form, it originally came about to help preserve the longevity of textiles worn by commoners in Japan.
Faux Shibori dyed patterns - shibori uses techniques "to wring, squeeze, and press" fabric before dyeing it.
