If you’ve never encountered dobby fabrics, you are in for a treat! Dobby fabric has a slightly raised, uneven texture, that is still durable and suitable for piecing and applique. Dobby fabric is often used in Japanese quilting for its unique texture and how it plays with light. Also suitable for tops, dresses, skirts, pants, and home decor projects.
This print is a playful take on one of Japan's oldest manga artworks, featuring rabbits and frogs frolicking and taking part in various matsuri (festival) activities, including: playing taiko, drinking beer, carrying a mikoshi, and dancing under lanterns.
Designed by Hokkoh, a Japanese textile company that is known for their "made in Japan" quality and original illustrations. Hokkoh has been producing textiles for 45 years.
