Rainbow Blenders Fabric Bundle - Half Yard
Rainbow Blenders Fabric Bundle - Half Yard
Featuring six half-yard cuts of premium Japanese fabric. All of these fabrics are curated to work well with each other for any rainbow-themed projects you have, and can just as easily be mixed with other fabrics in your stash to make one-of-a-kind items of your own.
Half yard cuts are 18" tall and around 42" - 44" wide from selvedge to selvedge. These cotton woven fabrics are suitable for a variety of projects, such as quilts, table runners, and bags.
These fabrics contain several traditional Japanese motifs, including:
Asanoha (hemp leaf) print on pink fabric - a design often used in children's items to symbolize the desire for a child to grow up healthy and strong
Segaiha (waves) on olive green fabric - concentric circles that look like ocean waves, the word "segaiha" literally means "blue sea and waves" and features an important role in Japanese culture due to its proximity to the sea.
Tombo (dragonflies) on teal fabric - Japan was once called "Akitsushima", which means "Land of Dragonflies". Dragonflies have many auspiciuous meanings in Japanese culture. My favorite one is that they symbolize agility and determination.
Faux sashiko stitching on red and navy fabrics - sashiko literally means "tiny stabs" in Japanese. While sashiko is primarily seen as an artisinal craft form, it originally came about to help preserve the longevity of textiles worn by commoners in Japan.
