Komebukuro Bag

Traditionally, a komebukuro is literally a “rice bag”, used to hold rice that are brought to temples in Japan as offerings during festivals and ceremonies. Today, komebukuro bags are used to carry personal items and accessories. In this workshop, your instructor will guide you through how to make your own komebukuro bag.

Skill level: beginner.

Introduction to Sewing (2-Part Workshop)

Never sewn before? No worries! Learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine and all of its features, including: winding a bobbin, finishing edges, and installing zippers.

We will also go over how to choose fabric and thread, cutting fabric, and sewing terminology. All tools, including sewing machines, and materials are included in your registration fee.

By the end of your second session, you will have your own handmade zip pouch to take home. 

 

Origami Bag

Learn to make a new style of grocery tote bag! The secret sauce in how this bag comes together is all in how you fold your fabric before sewing, which is why it is called an “origami” bag. Your instructor, Katie, will guide you on how to create this bag in a couple of hours. All tools and materials are included in your registration fee.

My First Quilt: Rail Fence

If you have been thinking of making a quit but don't know where to begin - start here! Participants will gain the skills to make a simple rail fence quilt. You will learn all the basics, from preparing your fabrics to binding your quilt.

Make this cute and "spooky" coffin-shaped tote bag in one day! Perfect for showcasing your favorite Halloween fabrics. This bag is a great size for bringing your favorite reusable water bottle, phone, keys, and journal with you. We will be using a pattern from Seamingly Wicked. All students are required to purchase their own copy of the pattern.

If you've got a ScanNCut, but aren't sure where to start, this class is for you! Learn the basics of how to operate, maintain, and get great results from your ScanNCut in this one-session class. Once you learn these basics, you will have fun scanning designs and cutting paper, vinyl, fabric, and more! Note: this course is for DX and SDX series machines only.

 
Learn to Applique with your Brother ScanNCut

Learn how to cut fabric on your Brother ScanNCut to esaliy and accurately cut fabric applique pieces. We will use those pieces to make this applique "welcome" sign to brighten your home! No applique experience required! Note: this course is intended for use with DX and SDX series machines only.
